ANNOUNCEMENT - Power Football Academy, Season 2020

Craig F front flag

2020 will be a year of growth and change for the Club. One of our highest priorities is to ensure that our player development strategies provide pathways for our players into elite senior football.

Paul Dymock, continuing as NPL Technical Director for the 2020 season, will be leading these changes. Over the past two seasons, Paul has overseen our transition from the Brisbane Premier League to the Football QLD Premier League in 2018 and into the National Premier League this year.

“It has been a busy few years in the role and I’m excited for the 2020 season and the plans I have for the club”, said Dymock.

The Club also wishes to acknowledge Gordon Tulloch, Director of Coaching, for laying the ground work for this change, playing a leading role in the Club’s push for inclusion in the National Premier League competition. Gordon will be leaving Peninsula Power at the end of the 2019 season. We thank Gordon for the fantastic and tireless work he has done for this Club over the last 6 years and we wish him the very best in his next role. Please join me in thanking Gordon and wishing him the best.

In the meantime, we are entering finals time and we hope to see you at our remaining games to spur on our boys in their inaugural NPL finals push.

President backs National Second Division

Club President Craig Feuerriegel aims for National stage

Australia’s national second division is coming together and Peninsula Power have registered their interest as a member of the AAFC.

The Association of Australian Football Clubs, representing NPL and grassroots clubs nation-wide, is targeting a 2021 season launch for the new competition.

The Second Division Working Group behind the scenes is looking to finalise proposals for the competition earmarked ‘The Championship’ in 2020.

Key details of the competition’s makeup are still to be determined, as are the clubs that will compete in it however,

Peninsula Power Club President Craig Feuerriegel said “Our club has signalled the potential entry into the competition with the second division to improve player pathways, offer more opportunities for Australian players at a professional level”

Fundraising at Power Fantastic F
This year the Club has introduced a Volunteer Levy for the NPL Division with the funding raised being used to ensure key jobs are done on game days and in support of our other events.

You can earn your Volunteer Levy back by completing 10 hours of work over the course of the year.

There are lots of ways you can help out:

• On game days - assisting in the Club bar, helping out in the kitchen, selling raffle tickets and being a Ground Official.
• Do you love a good Working Bee? Watch out for requests during the year.
• What about our big events? Help out with setting up for carnivals, presentation days, hosting A-League Roar matches or celebrating the opening of new facilities

Discuss the many ways you can lend a hand with NPL Volunteer Coordinator, Nikki Harrison-Mcrae.
