2020 Grants & Improvements

MBRC

The Club has been fortunate this year, receiving several Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) and Qld Government grants allowing us to manage our response to COVID-19 and to refresh our facilities and grounds.

Work has been underway during the pre-season making the most of down-time from COVID-19 restrictions.

A J Kelly Park, Facility Revitalisation Grant

IMG 0230

An MBRC and 'COVID-19 Community Grants Infrastructure Revitalisation Program' grant has funded a number of projects at our facilities.

A.J. Kelly Park received new kitchen and clubhouse cabinets, new LED clubhouse and security lighting, new paint in clubhouse and toilets, painting on balcony and new carpet inside the clubhouse and function room.

All work is now complete ready for our season commencement. Function room bookings can be made by contacting michelle68@bigpond.com.

The program has been extremely beneficial in assisting community sporting groups, local communities and volunteers and is playing an important part of the economic recovery of our local businesses. We have engaged all local businesses to complete the work.

Dalton Park, New LED Field Lights

Dalton Park Lights 30062020

Thank you to MBRC and the Qld Government for their contributions ('Activate Environments Grant') to recent LED light replacements at Dalton Park.

Stage 1 is now complete for Field 2 with Dalton Park being lit up better than ever in the evenings!

Power contributed $25,000 towards the $200,000 lighting upgrade. We hope to move to Stage 2 lighting in the future when the remaining metal halide lighting is replaced with modern and economical LED lighting on Fields 1 and 3.

Club Development Grant, Strategic Planning

Power Strategic Planning

The Club has partnered with MBRC and Sports Community to complete a Strategic Planning exercise in 2020, to develop our vision and objectives for the next 5 years.

All Club members and Committees will be invited to participate through completion of a short survey.

Please contribute your thoughts and views on what the priorities should be for the Club when you receive the email with your request to participate..

Federal Government Volunteer Grant, First Aid Training

Sports First Aid

Funding between $1,000 and $5,000 is available under the '2019-20 Volunteer Grants' to help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers. The grants can be used to buy small equipment for volunteers or for the reimbursement of volunteer fuel, transport or training costs.

The Club will now contribute to the costs of Club Coaches' attendance at First Aid Training Courses prior to start of the 2021 playing season, further investing in player and member safety.
