Community Football Division

Community Football Division - About Us

The Community Football Division is the largest of the divisions at Peninsula Power, serving more than 600 players. All players in this division play in the Football Brisbane competitions and ages go from u5s through to over 45s.

We have every facet of football covered in this division. If you want to play social football or the more competitive brand we have a programme for you.

Aldi Mini-Roos

Our Peewees Programme looks after kids from as young as 3 through to 5 and aims to introduce football to beginners through fun activities. Our under 6s and 7s train on Saturday mornings and play in-house matches against each other straight after. This allows our coaching staff to carefully nurture the kids' development while still having fun with their mates. From under 8s through until under 12s our teams play clubs from around our region. Here, the players can be graded and put into similar skill-level teams to further help their development. We have three tiers of grading, "Geckos" for players showing a beginners' level of skill, "Goannas" for the players showing intermediate levels of skill and finally our "Komodos" who show advanced levels of skill. The higher the level normally indicates the longer distances the teams will travel. From under 8s onwards we can also have girls only teams, provided number of girls registrations is high enough. None of the mini-roos teams play for points, nor is there a league table. This is designed to be a fun atmosphere for kids to learn useful skills

Competitive Football

From under 13s through to under 16s teams will play on the full size fields with full FIFA rules. The only change to the rules is that players are interchanged instead of substituted. Much like the mini-roos section, players will be graded to a level so they are placed into teams with children of similar skill levels. All competitions are governed by Football Brisbane and this is where teams start to play for points and league tables are administered. Finals are also played at the end of the season for teams that qualify. Teams can also be promoted to the next league for the following season if they qualify in the previous season.

From under 18s all the way through to our over 45s teams, teams now play with substitutions
