Woods signs from Wanderers

Peninsula Power are pleased to announce the signing of the excited young midfielder from the Sunshine Coast, Tish Woods, ahead of the 2022 season.

Alex Smith has added more firepower to an improving squad with the versatile teenager that featured heavily for the Sunshine Coast Wanderers in 2021.

Woods joins as the second Sunshine Coast Wanderers Women's player to join Alex Smith's squad and the fourth in total across both the Peninsula Power Men and Women's squads following Daniel Cuttler, Izzy Wood and Brodie Boyce to AJ Kelly Park.

The Canberra-born player can play all across the midfield with a particular talent for getting forward scoring three senior goals in her debut NPLW season.

Tish already brings great experience and accolades at a young age, winning Player's Player awards in her time with the Wanderers.

The 17-year-old has come to Power in search of a new challenge and quality coaching that will be provided by Alex Smith and his coaching staff.

“I'm just really excited to play alongside a group of young talented girls and learn a lot from Alex (Smith) and his coaching team."

Head of Women's Football and FQPLW Head Coach, Alex Smith, is thrilled to have Tish at the club and is excited to see how the young midfielder can grow under his tutelage.

"Very excited to add another talented young player to our squad.

"I was very impressed with Tish last year, she will bring a lot of quality to our midfield.

"I'm really looking forward to working with her."
