Zabaks is a name known throughout the Queensland football scene as a long-term, steady and reliable goalkeeper who has branded his name in Australian football folklore.
The shot-stopper has over 15 years of experience in Queensland alone, spending time at some of the biggest clubs in the country including; Sutherland Sharks, APIA Leichhardt, Bonnyrigg White Eagles, Eastern Suburbs and Lions FC.
Prior to joining power, Zabaks spent time in the lower divisions with Centenary Stormers before returning to the Queensland top-flight.
Experienced in league format as a serial winner appearing in two FFA Cup Round of 32 appearances, once with Lions FC in 2015 and part of Power's meeting with the Brisbane Roar in the 2021 season.
Known for his trademark headgear, Zabaks was rushed to emergency head surgery in 2010 which resulted in the necessary protection.
With seven premierships to his name, the 38-year-old will be looking to make it eight as he helps push Peninsula Power to the three-peat.
“Towards the end, you start to remember why you began.
"For me, it was about the journey and leaving a legacy I could be proud of."
Senior Director of Football, Ben Ryan, is excited as ever to have the services of such an experienced campaigner back for 2022.
"Great to have Phil back on board.
"His experience of winning is a good thing to have with young players in the squad."
