2019 WRAP-UP
Football Brisbane | Great Players and Iconic Local Derbies
The 2019 Football Brisbane Season was wrapped up with the Peninsula Power BWPL team winning both the BWPL Grand Final; and the Elaine Watson Cup for the third successive year. The ladies finished 3rd on the League Ladder with season results of 22-11-7-4, and with their motto ‘Belief-Teamwork-Passion’ they fought their way through each game of the Finals Series into the Grand Final and came out Champions for 2019.
Our Reserves Ladies also finished 3rd on the League Ladder with an impressive 22-13-4-5 result, unfortunately they lost their Semi Final bowing out of the remaining Finals Series.
Our beloved City5 League ladies, aka the “Wobbly Bums” finished 2nd on the League Ladder with an impressive 15-10-2-3 result, proving age is just a number, and were Runners Up in the season Grand Final.
Our U14 Div1 Girls team were also 2019 Grand Final winners; they finished the season 2nd on the Ladder with an awesome 16-11-2-3 result, and blitz the Finals Series as well.
Our U14 Div2 Girls team were a mixed group of 13 and 12 year old’s. They finished their season 18-1-2-15, they learnt a lot and had fun along the way.
And last but not least, our City4 team who were a very new group of ladies this season, ended their season 18-6-0-12. We hope to see them back on the pitch in 2020 to develop their skills further.
